The purpose of The Visitation Ministry Team of Shiloh United Methodist Church is to share the love and grace of God and our church family by offering visits to church members and non-members. It includes, but is in no way limited to, those who are in rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, assisted living and independent living facilities, first or second-time visitors, those in hospitals or just released from the hospital and those who just need a visit to let them know we care.
The biblical reality is that visitation is a corporate effort (it is the responsibility of all Christians) not just the pastor or chaplain. The Visitation Ministry is one way Shiloh UMC expresses and shares God’s love grace with the world.
While the church has only one pastor, all are ministers. The Visitation Ministry Team is made up of a covenant group of compassionate individuals who continually strive to live more fully into our understanding of love of God and love of neighbor. Ministering to others in the name of Christ can become a source of spiritual renewal for every Christian and of a contagious enthusiasm that can transform the lives of God’s people.
